It is important to stand out if you are looking to move up the ranks at work. There are many obvious ways to stand out but this article from Business Insider gives us a list of tips that you may not normally think of. We think that these tips are a great way to be different and help you get to where you want to be. Here are a few of our favourite to help you get that promotion.
-Don't set goals. Use systems. A goal is one achievement while a system is the process that leads to that goal. If you use systems it will lead to real results.
-Be a good story teller. If you are selling something, you have to be able to communicate it clearly and in an intelligent way.
-Stay a step ahead of your critics. You want to be prepared for any questions or doubts that your critics may have.
-Have buffers in your schedule. Schedule empty blocks of time (an hour a day) in your calendar to ensure you have some me-time and to take a breather.
-Give credit to others. You can make yourself look good by noticing other people’s accomplishments and making them happy.
