How to Remove Stains with Natural Ingredients: Lipstick

Lipstick is a lovely addition to any outfit and can definitely be a confidence booster. However, that can quickly change when you get a lipstick stain on your shirt. Don’t panic because we have a few simple ingredients found in your home that can be used to remove the stain.

-Rubbing alcohol. Take a clean white cloth and moisten it with the alcohol. Don’t rub it but instead dab it onto the stain until it disappears.

-Liquid dishwashing detergent. Use a mild liquid detergent that is meant to fight grease. Dab a small amount on the stain and let it sit for 10 minutes, then start working on it from the outside in.

-Ammonia. This is one that you can definitely find at home for cleaning. Start off by dabbing the stain with water. When finished, grab a cotton ball that is soaked in ammonia to continue dabbing the spot. Once the stain starts to fade, rinse it with soapy water.

-Hairspray. If your fabric permits it, spray the hairspray onto the stain and let it sit for 10-15 minutes. Afterwards, a clean cloth soaked with warm water is all it takes to finish wiping the stain away.
